Are you looking for some new ways to explore the diamond painting hobby? We love going beyond just doing the same thing every time and experimenting with some different ideas. We thought we would share some of our favorite diamond painting ideas with you.

Maybe you’re trapped at home during lockdown or you feel like you have done everything you can do with diamond painting. Hopefully, this list inspires you to branch out and do something a bit different for a change.

  1. Paint as a Group

Diamond painting lovers getting together to work on the same canvas sounds like a great way to socialize. Or it could be a recipe for disaster. It could end up being both!

Just ask anyone who has tried to paint with a few other people involved and you may hear wild stories about how that went. Maybe one person started using the wrong colors and someone else tried to get adventurous with applying more than one diamond at a time. Just spending the time doing an activity like this with friends or family can be a great bonding experience, even if you don’t all agree on the way it should be done.

A little chaos thrown into what is normally a relaxing and quiet hobby sounds like a great way to shake things up and do something different.

You will need a few painting pens to pull this off. You want to make sure everyone has their own pen so that no one feels left out.

You should probably get a few trays as well so that everyone is not crowding each other out. Once you do, it’s a party!

This can be such a great experience and a good way to finish a painting much faster.

  1. Try a Neon Painting

There are some very cool looking diamond paintings out there with a variety of styles. One of the styles we think gets overlooked is neon. The bright colors shining out from a usually dark canvas makes for a compelling piece of art. When the picture is finished, it just looks so cool.

Just think of how amazing a neon cat or a neon unicorn, or a neon dog would look once it is glitzed up with some diamonds. Neon may not be your preference, but it feels good to branch out a bit and try something new. Just taking in a new art style can give you a new appreciation for other types of art and help you to find your next favorite style.

  1. Hang Your Art

Have you considered turning your home into your personal art gallery? It’s one of the simplest diamond painting ideas but one that some people have never become comfortable with.

It’s okay to show off your works of art. After all, you spent hours creating it and meticulously applying the diamonds. Why would you not want to display it for everyone to see?

Where to hang your newly completed diamond art painting? Here are a few ideas:

  • Over the couch
  • On your bedroom door
  • Just inside the front door
  • Above your bed
  • Behind the kitchen table
  • Over the fireplace
  1. All-Night Painting Session

One of our favorite diamond painting ideas is to finish a single painting in one day. Some of them take hours, we know, so that may seem impossible, but why not make a night of it?

You can put on your most comfortable pjs, grab some snacks, and listen to your favorite music. The hours will fly by as you relax and create a truly sensational work of art.

You’ll be creating a memory that you remember fondly for a long time to come, and it’s the kind of experience you will want to have again and again.

  1. Use a Different Kind of Diamond Painting Pen

Most people use the diamond painting pen that comes in their kit, and that is usually the single diamond applicator. That’s great for starting out with, but diamond painting lovers will definitely want to try a multi-placer. These have flat ends compared to the rounded ends of a single diamond pen. You can pick up more than one diamond at a time with it.

Now, it takes some getting used to in order to use one of the multi-placer pens. We won’t lie about that. It’s not something you pick up and get good at right away, but pretty quickly you can learn how to use it.

After a while, you will be able to place your diamonds into their slots with precision, speed and ease. You’ll put together a painting in record time and impress yourself with how well you did it. That’s something worth trying, we think.

These are just a few diamond painting ideas to get you started. We bet you will think of plenty more as you look for new ways to extend the hobby and have fun with it.
